(15)Crafting Sound
As part of my ongoing artistic practice, I’m committed to experimenting with various ways of recording, editing, mixing and broadcasting. Historically I would experiment with different aspects of the sonic craft by securing commissions. For example, securing funding from the Arts Council (2014, 2016), the Discord (2016) project at Somerset House and most recently the Curious Loop Residency (2020) at the Field Kitchen Academy in Berlin.
The aspects of sonic crafting that I’m particularly interested in developing are making and broadcasting community radio; field and site-specific recording techniques and associated equipment; and the design and build of site-specific multi channel sound installations. Attached to this is a personal enjoyment of and interest in Soundsystem culture and dance culture.
